Wedding/Bridal make-up should be special. I believe simplicity is the key to a beautiful make-up. Every Bride should look like herself at her most beautiful. It is not a time to try a look that is very trendy or radically different from your usual style. Every Bride should love how she looks in the pictures ten years from now. The make-up I create is long-lasting, timeless and looks amazing in real-life and in photographs.

The wedding day is also special for family and friends, so consider booking make-up appointments for the whole bridal party too, i.e, Bridesmaids, Mother-of-the-Bride, Grooms’ Mum, Grandmothers, or any other female guests requiring make-up, (written quotations available upon request, and will be e-mailed to you.)

Make-up trial

It is essential that a make-up trial is arranged prior to your wedding day. This would be done in my studio in Healing – (DN41 7NJ.) It is personal preference when you book this trial, many of my clients book 2-3 months before the big day (advisable), or some book 6-12 months before and then come again before the occasion. I then travel to your chosen location on your wedding day, (travel fees will be added onto your price, if applicable, and are charged at how long it would take me to travel to and from your location.) This is an ideal opportunity for you and your bridesmaids/Mum to discuss your requirements and learn more about what is appropriate for you make-up wise and for your skin preparation. By understanding your skin type, you are half way to a glowing, healthy complexion this will enable the make-up to last longer and look beautiful too. I constantly meet ladies who have been using unsuitable skincare products. It is only when the correct products are used that the make-up can then be effective. I will show you how this is easily achieved using the best products and techniques.

Flowers, colour theme, dress, bridesmaids, time of the year and the overall style and theme of the wedding will be discussed in order to create a bespoke make-up look which will enhance your natural beauty. Your make-up will then be applied. When you are 100% satisfied with the look created, all the products used will be listed for you and a face chart designed too, ready for the big day. I will have a copy of this for my records. I will also discuss timings and confirm all the relevant details too.

The professional make-up brands that I use are especially suitable for photographic work and therefore have maximum staying power and will minimise shine, while still giving a very natural look, however, if you preferred a more dramatic look then that is not a problem.

The make-up trial usually lasts one hour for each lady requiring make-up. All of my clients find it to be a very enjoyable part of the pre-marital pampering.

Wedding day make-up

On the day of your wedding I will arrive at your home or venue at the pre-arranged time. It is best for the hairdresser to have finished the hair before make-up is applied.

I prefer to apply the Brides’ make-up first, as from my experience, this relaxes her. If required, I can then re-touch any make-up for her. Bridesmaids’ and Mother of the bride’s make-up is then applied, each make-up will take approximately 30 minutes. The look that was created at the make-up trial will then be applied. This is a time of your day when you can sit back, relax and really start to enjoy what will be the most special day of your life.

Make-up lesson

The key to great looking make-up is the art of discovering your best facial features, accentuating the positive and minimising the negative.

I will share with you my knowledge and experience of make-up application and will teach you step-by-step how to create a beautiful, flawless and unique make-up style, using the right tools and products.
If you are getting married abroad or you would prefer to apply your own make-up on the day then a Bridal make-up lesson is essential, (see below.)

Make-up does look very different on photographs, there are certain textures and shades which should be avoided and others that look amazing when photographed. Remember your wedding photographs are with you for life and cannot be changed.

I will advise you on the correct skincare regime suitable for your skin type. A personally designed face-chart with a listing of all products will be given to you following the make-up lesson.

The lessons will be catered for your requirements and can therefore take 15 minutes to two hours and you will leave feeling confident about applying your own make-up. You can choose the following lessons

Booking

To make a booking with me, please check availability first with me via the enquiry/booking form, including all the relevant details such as your postcode, how many ladies there are requiring make-up and time of the occasion, etc. I will then e-mail your quote to you. To secure your booking with me I require a £25 (non-refundable/transferrable) deposit , you can pay securely online via Paypal on my website. This deposit is deductable from your outstanding amount which is required in full on your make-up trial, which ideally needs to be done 2-3 months prior to your special occasion.

On the make-up trial I require full payment, in cash please, (full payment for the trial and for the actual occasion.) Please note – this is non-refundable/transferrable should you decide to cancel.

On the actual day I can travel to your chosen location, (there will be a travelling fee if your location is outside the Grimsby area and I do charge per hour, due to the time it takes, to and from your location.)

Unfortunately, I do not sell any of the make-up I use on you, however, I will design and complete a product list and face chart. This will enable you purchase products either online or the nearest store. I do not work for Bobbi Brown and I am not affiliated with any of the brands that I use. I simply love using the make-up as I am familiar with it, it is easy to use and looks beautiful too. You are under no obligation to purchase anything and I do not work on commission.
