Daniel Sandler cosmetics

Daniel Sandler cosmetics...

I had the pleasure of trying out some new make-up from celebrity make-up artist, Daniel Sandler recently.  I have admired Daniels' work and excellent cosmetic products for a while, so was chuffed to sample some of the following -

Watercolour blush in Flush - This is a beautiful product in a liquid form in a little bottle, you only need a tiny amount and you can either apply it with your finger or an angled brush, (Daniels watercolour brush is perfect.)  It is great if you prefer a dewy glow from your blush, and I personally prefer either a cream blush or a liquid one to be honest.  Not only are these easy to apply but they are waterproof! so stay on all day long and are so easy to blend, they look very natural too.  I highly recommend these.  There are also lots of other beautiful shades to choose from. (£15.50)

Sculpt and slim - contour kit (£24.50) - All of the packaging is very high end. This comes in a lovely handy little compact with a mirror.  The "shade" part is great to apply under cheekbones, around temple and jawline, infact anywhere where you want to decrease areas on your face, a perfect matt shade.  The lighter shade is to be used on the top of your cheekbones, cupids bow or anywhere else you want to highlight, like underneath your brows too perhaps, a beautiful product.

Radiant sheen, (£28) - This creates a lovely subtle sheen, to be used on top of your blush or gently apply on the top of your cheekbones to create a lovely glow.

Beyond sunset eyeshadow palette and Scandal at midnight eyeshadow palette - (£28) - Again, beautiful packaging and when you open to see the shades inside, wow! beautiful textures and shades so you can achieve many different effects and depths, these can be used wet or dry too.

Luxury lip gloss (£14.75)  and Super bare lip gloss (£10)- The luxury lip gloss comes with a handy little applicator to easy to apply, it smells "melony" and lasts a long time, it has a lovely sparkle to it too, (I chose Skinny dip.)  I also love the Super bare lip gloss and its very glossy, and gloopy so stays on a long time, (apply over a lip pencil too for added longevity.)  This is a perfect nude shade.

Make-up by Tina Brocklebank Make-up artist

Bridal Couture shoot, Make-up by Tina Brocklebank Make-up artist.

Recently I have had the pleasure of working with wonderful creative people.  I worked with the amazing Joanna Chafer of Joanna-Leigh Couture in Brigg, and my goodness, her designs are second to none and the attention to detail is astonishing!

Siana Hemmings was our beautiful model for the day, (Miss Lincolnshire) and I think you will agree, she looks amazing and is such a professional lady to work with, (and very funny too!)

Our inspiration was of course Joannas' beautiful gowns and when we saw a Victorian design, we all agreed this was the way forward for us to go, therefore, we incorporated a real Victorian, sophisticated feel to our shoot.

Regarding make-up - I wanted to show a nod to this era but still making the make-up look timelessly elegant.  The fashion was to have a very pale face, but I just turned it up a notch and warmed up the skin. To prep the skin I used This works in transit camera close-up moisturiser and primer to create a beautiful base to work on.  I then used Bobbi Brown Long-wear even finish foundation, a touch of corrector and concealer where needed and finished with Bobbi Brown sheer finish loose powder.  For eyes, I used Bobbi Brown brow palette in the shade Saddle.  On the whole eye area I used Long-wear cream eyeshadow in Ballet pink and then Illamasqua cream pigments in Androgen, Emerge and Delerium, taking the lilac-y shade underneath the eyes and blending very well.  The whole face had to be powdered very well to create a lovely matte effect.  I then used Bobbi Brown cream eyeshadow in Bone as a highlighter.  To define the lashline, I used Black track gel liner by MAC and then applied some of their false lash mascara.  I then added some beautiful false lashes from Red cherry which had to be wispy and beautiful.

For cheeks - I contoured slightly with a brown eyeshadow and then added a bright pop of blush, only on the apples of the cheeks to create a Victorian feel to it, I used Peony blush by Bobbi Brown and blended well with a Real Techniques blusher brush, (I love these brushes by the way, they are lovely to work with.)

For lips, I mixed my own colour to reflect the gorgeous shades that Jo and Sophie had created in their bouquets, which were a stunning range of reds, crimsons and burgundys.  Firstly, I applied a lip pencil by Bobbi Brown in Sangria and then mixed 2 lip colours from my Bobbi Brown pro lip palette in Chocolate and Black berry. I then applied a Bobbi Brown crystal lip gloss, which has gold flecks in it.

We all had such a fantastic day.  Tracy Conway-Smith took the photographs and they look amazing so far, so I can't wait to see the rest!  The flowers were designed and made by Sophie and Jo at The Wedding and Flower Boutique, which were so creative and just beautiful!  Hair was done by the wonderful Claire Snowden hairdresser.

Watch this space for more photos from our beautiful Bridal couture shoot!

Just to remind you, I am nearly booked up for next year now and taking bookings for 2016, so please get in touch to check availability.  Tina x

Make-up artist in Lincolnshire (Blog update) -

Well, I haven't wrote in my blog for quite a while! things have been very hectic lately! So, since my last post I have been very busy with make-up trials and make-up lessons in my make-up studio.  I have updated my make-up kit recently by purchasing a new wonderful Mamba brush wrap from  The Emj company (www.theemjcompany.com), a pencil roll and also a gloss roll - let me tell you - these products have revolutionized my work by making things SO much easier! I know can see exactly where  my brush/product is without rummaging around, it certainly saves a lot of time and effort!

I have also been extremely busy with weddings too, and I have had the pleasure of working with some lovely, inspirational people.  Its always such an honour to share someone's wedding morning with them.  I also had the pleasure of working in Nottingham recently with 3 beautiful ladies, (Mum and 2 daughters.)  They wanted a day make-up workshop, so I designed it especially around them for their requirements and needs.  I showed them different looks, products and techniques too.  The 2 daughters have quite a following - check out their channels on Youtube - talkbeckytalk or twinklelashes  I then designed their looks for them on my face charts, (see photo above.)

I have also been busy writing my column for the Journal magazine, and please feel free to e-mail me over any make-up related questions you may have, that you would like me to answer for you.  I really enjoy writing my column.

People are coming from as far away as Essex now to have make-up trials with me, and they stayed at the beautiful Healing Manor.  They are getting married at the stunning Stubton Hall, near Newark, (www.stubtonhall.co.uk )Its a perk of the job to get to travel around the UK and see some beautiful locations for weddings.

I am also loving working with mature ladies for make-up lessons - its very satisfying to help someone who has lost confidence and once they have their make-up applied they are back in the game! To quote on lady recently, "I feel like skipping home after having my make-up done by you, I feel fantastic!"  You can see why I love my job so much, and its great to help and empower other women.

I have a lot of make-up trials and lessons coming up, and wedding season is in full swing, with bookings being taken for 2015 and 2016.  I also have some photo shoots lined up for various projects, so watch this space!

I had the pleasure of working with a photographer in London recently, and I created a doll-inspired make-up for the shoot.

Thank-you for reading!xxx

Healing Manor hotel.

Things have been very hectic for me recently...I have been busy preparing and shooting at the Healing manor, which is a beautiful gem, tucked away in the little village of Healing - http://www.healingmanorhotel.co.uk/ The restaurant here is fantastic and the food and service is great, everyone is so friendly and helpful here. Healing Manor is set in 38 acres + of Lincolnshire countryside and is simply stunning and is being restored back to its glory, having being given the respect it deserves...finally!

I have been taking lots of wedding bookings for this beautiful venue for 2013 and 2014 and I can honestly say, the bridal suite here is breath-taking and I can highly recommend.  There are 40 rooms too, which are currently being renovated.  This is one venue not to be overlooked...but to be booked!

Please see  I had the pleasure of working with the amazing Stella and Alf, (exquisite clothing range.) -http://www.stellaandalf.com/ We also had the honour of having the use of a beautiful, classic car from Graham Chapman - http://www.grahamchapmanclassiccars.com/which looked stunning with our theme and model.  Hair was by Scott James Preston-Smith, who is from Stephens' hair studio.

I also met the lovely and talented Leanne Surfleet - http://www.leannesurfleet.com/ who is an awesome photographer, and I am really looking forward to seeing her work from our shoot.

Wedding make-up at Stoke Rochford hall, Grantham...

I recently had the pleasure of working at the stunning Stoke Rochford hall in Grantham for a wedding.  I love travelling and working as a make-up artist.  Not only do I get to see lots of beautiful venues but I get to work with such lovely people too.  I always love receiving my thank-you letters afterwards!

The brief given for this wedding was glamorous, so I knew I could really go for it with the make-up.  Bridy wanted "Hollywood inspired glamour" so I went for a clean eye make-up, black liner with lashes and red lips, she looked amazing!

Then for her daughter, (who was Bridesmaid), we went for smokey, sparkly eyes with false lashes and nude lips, she looked beautiful.  I used mainly Bobbi Brown but I also used Mac false lashes with Make-up Forever diamond powder, which looks so beautiful and glamorous.

Wedding season is still in full swing with lots of bookings being taken still for next year with limited availability, so please get in touch if you wanted to book.

Please see my Facebook page for further images.

Meltproof Bridal/wedding day make-up by Tina Brocklebank.

Wedding season is in full swing and this weekend is busy, busy.  I am so lucky, I get to meet such lovely people and work in such beautiful venues too!  This weekend I have had 3 weddings on.  Last weekend I had the pleasure of working at The White Heather.  Crystal has got married abroad and had her reception here, so I went to do her make-up for her.  I had met Crystal about 5 years ago when she was a bridesmaid for one of her friends...now, it was her turn!

See the photo below, (photography by James Green.) James is a great photographer and I love working with him, he always produces such great images.  Here I used the fantastic Bobbi Brown Long-wear foundations, as it was so hot! so I had to use long-lasting formulations for both the base and eyes.  I could afford to go quite a bit darker than usual, as Crystal had a great tan!  I could also use much richer shades on the eyes, cheeks and lips, as you can see.  She looked stunning.

I am still loving writing my regular column for the Journal magazine, my next column is all about make-up brushes so keep an eye out for that!

I also have a few other exciting projects up and coming, so I will keep you posted on that too!

Smokey eyes...

Special occasion make-up, etc.

I had another very busy weekend last weekend - I also had the pleasure of doing 2 lovely ladies' special occasion make-ups for an evening wedding reception, as she had got married abroad.  Kelly wanted a Kim Kardashian look so I knew I could really go for it with the make-up and contouring.  I used lots of different products, including Make-up forever, Mac, Bobbi Brown, Louise Young, Tom Ford and Illamasqua, (see photo.)  I also used some beautiful false eyelashes from Mac.

I have another very busy weekend ahead of me again, with 3 weddings on.  Wedding season is in full effect!  I am soon to be travelling to Stoke and also the beautiful Walcott Hall in Alkborough.

I hope you are having a fantastic Summer! I will write a blog soon about meltproof make-up I think!
